Windmöller & Hölscher uses IXON Cloud for machine connectivity

IXON is pleased to announce that Windmöller & Hölscher KG, the world's leading manufacturer of flexible packaging machinery and equipment, has selected IXON Cloud as its secure machine connectivity partner.

The product portfolio of Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) includes high-performance machines for film extrusion, printing and processing of flexible packaging. The approximately 3,100 employees of the traditional German company develop optimal solutions for their more than 5,000 customers from all over the world. All from a single source: from competent advice and engineering to the delivery of high-quality machines and complete packaging lines.

W&H has been aware of the importance of IIoT and Industry 4.0 for many years. Since 2015, all digitalization activities have been under the motto PACKAGING 4.0: intelligent, intuitive, integrated. Through the collaboration with IXON, the applications in the IXON Cloud will be used for remote maintenance in the future instead of the on-premise systems at W&H. In addition, W&H benefits from the comprehensive IT security measures of the IXON Cloud - relieving them of existing on-premise obligations, such as regular on-site security updates.
